While there are no specific pre-requisites, we do recommend that all students have taken or are enrolled in Algebra II/ Intermediate Algebra. Much of the SAT and ACT math sections revolve around principles learned in Algebra II. While we review many of these concepts in the class, students who have not previously been exposed to them will not gain as much from the review

Yes. We have found that students learn the most when they discuss the material with their tutor and practice it on their own. However, we know students are busy. We try to keep homework to approximately 1 to 2 hours per session. If a student would like additional practice, we are happy to provide extra homework. The more students put into their preparation, the more they will get out of it.

Every student is different. The amount of points a score may raise will depend on several factors: current level of understanding of SAT material, diligence in completing homework assignments, consistent attendance, etc. On average, students who complete the assigned homework raise their scores 100 to 200 points. We believe our class provides ALL of our students with the skills and confidence necessary to raise their scores. What they do with the knowledge they gain, however, is entirely up to them!

Yes! Many colleges require or recommend the optional Essay as part of their SAT or ACT admission requirement. The Essay score is not factored into your composite score for either test, but if you find out later that you need the Essay section to apply, you will have to sit for the entire test again.

Online tutoring is easy and convenient. Students will need access to a computer or laptop with a video camera and internet service. We connect with students using Zoom, a video conferencing website. Zoom allows us to see each other, use a whiteboard, share screens, and work on practice problems together. If you would like additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
